OPEN HIRES BRIAN DEVORE AS PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT MANAGER
Dallas, TX, September 4, 2018– OPEN (The Online Physical Education Network), the nation’s largest grassroots organization serving physical educators and activity leaders, is excited to announce that Mr. Brian Devore has accepted the position of Professional Development Manager effective immediately.
When OPEN was launched in March of 2015, Brian became the first OPEN National Trainer, apart from OPEN’s founding Development Council. Since that time, he has donated hundreds of volunteer hours to OPEN’s mission and delivered dozens of professional development events. Brian has been a major part of OPEN’s growth and success over the past 4 years and adding him as a full-time team member adds 30 years of outstanding educational work experience to OPEN’s mission-driven work.

Brian has been honored with several prestigious teaching awards during his career, including being named as the 2014 SHAPE America Southern District Elementary Teacher of the Year. Georgia AHPERD and SHAPE America’s Southern District have also recognized Brian’s service on several professional leadership councils with the 2016 Southern District Honor Award.
In 2017, Brian was nominated by the entire OPEN National Training Team as the OPEN National Trainer of the Year for his dedication to helping his teammates develop their skills and talents as presenters. Brian will continue to support the team of more than 55 national trainers in his new full-time role. His work will also expand OPEN’s member outreach efforts.
Since launching in March of 2015, OPEN now serves over 42,000 teachers. OPEN’s core mission is to provide equity of access to outcomes-based professional development opportunities in the form of quality curriculum resources, online learning opportunities, and live professional development events. The addition of Brian Devore as OPEN’s Professional Development Manager greatly expands OPEN’s capacity to serve teachers.
